Tablecloth (Scattered University)
A2 UMPRUM 2022 under Eva Franch i Gilabert - Klauzura
The object representing the Scattered University is a tablecloth hung as a tapestry. The tablecloth is stuffed and suspended from above, which contradicts how we traditionally view tablecloths. It invites to interact with it, feel it, pet it, make love to it, on it, lay it on all possible horizontalities of the table.
On the cloth, there is a beast living in the Mediterranean Sea.
A dragon is an enormously fractal animal, similar to the fractality of a coast - we can never really compute the length of a sea shore as it grows on more and more detail when we zoom in, which makes its shoreline infinite.
Storytelling and myths accompany us on journeys. A ritual / custom needs a myth. Sometimes making things up is more true than reality.
